If you are unfamiliar with the mid-century American fashion designer Claire McCardell, who was mentioned in my last post, you can see some of her garments on The Met's Timeline of Art History.

Many of my own sartorial habits can be traced back to McCardell's influence.  If you know me, you know I would do bad things to get my paws on that plaid dress.
